(NASHVILLE, TENN.) -- Jump5 stopped by the nationally syndicated radio show TOTAL AXXESS last week, to discuss their upcoming album and tour. The group performed an acoustic version of "Throw Your Hands Up," backed by Sammy Ward, and also took the opportunity to accept a live on-air Dance Dance Revolution challenge from the show's host Wally (who was easily defeated). The program airs live weeknights on the WAY-FM Network and other affiliated stations.
Also last week, Radio Disney tested the song "Shoot the Moon" as part of their "Pick It or Kick It" feature on their Saturday Morning Music Mailbag, and listeners voted an overwhelming 95% in favor of the song. It's now in regular rotation on the national network, and will be available for purchase at iTunes on August 28th. "Fly" and "I Surrender All," the first singles for Christian radio, will go for adds at CHR and AC/Inspo radio outlets respectively on September 7th.
The group also made a recent stop by the Dallas-area studios of the nationally syndicated Coconut Hut Radio Show, for a interview feature that will run in October.
Jump5's final studio album, Hello & Goodbye, will be released October 9th by Slanted Records. As previously announced, Jump5's farewell tour kicks off September 7th, hitting over 30 cities throughout North American through the end of the year. Sponsored by The Kingdom Kidz Club and Shoutlife.com, the Hello & Goodbye Tour will also feature performances by Jessie Daniels, Pure NRG, Carried Away, Sammy Ward and Cali (select cities only).
Jump5 hit the music scene in 2001, billing themselves as a family-friendly alternative to the PG-13 pop music that was exploding into the marketplace. Siblings Brandon and Brittany Hargest, along with childhood friends Lesley Moore, Chris Fedun and Libby Hodges (who left the group in 2004) quickly became a teen phenomenon, touring worldwide and releasing nine albums on EMI-owned Sparrow Records which collectively have sold over 1.4 million copies. Jump5 was one of the first Christian artists to find success in both the Christian and mainstream music industries. The group's non-stop touring had them performing in churches across the country, as well as taking the stage at major venues while touring with such artists as teen pop star Aaron Carter, A*teens, Baha Men and numerous Radio Disney tours. The group also performed for millions on national television with appearances on major outlets including Nickelodeon, ABC Christmas Morning with Regis and Kelly, CBS Early Show and The Disney Channel, to name a few. They performed for President George W. Bush at The White House, and found their songs prominently featured in several major motion pictures, including The Lizzie McGuire Movie, Sleepover, Spy Kids, Ella Enchanted, Ice Princess, Beauty & the Beast and Brother Bear, as well as television programs like Kim Possible and Lilo & Stitch, for which they recorded the theme song.
