EMI CMG DISTRIBUTION TO BRING “BIBLE CHAMPIONS” AND “GOSPEL CHAMPIONS” TO CHRISTIAN RETAIL
New Agreement with Third Day Games Launches with 6 PC Games in November
BRENTWOOD, Tenn. — October 2, 2007 — EMI CMG Distribution (CMG) has signed an exclusive agreement with Third Day Games, a leading producer of Bible-based video games, to provide worldwide distribution to Christian retail markets.
The agreement, effective immediately, commences with the retail release of six video games targeted to elementary-aged children on November 20, 2007 and continues with one to two releases in 2008, announced Greg Bays, senior vice president of sales and marketing for EMI CMG Distribution and Bobby Wells, chairman and CEO of the Alabama-based Third Day Games.
“As the faith and family entertainment category continues to explode, EMI CMG Distribution continues to look for ways to expand our line-up of exciting video games, and we couldn’t have found a better partner than Third Day Games and their approach to developing games that both teach and reinforce life-affirming, Biblically-based spiritual lessons for children,” said Bays.
“Third Day Games’ mission is to use kids' love of video games to help form and strengthen their Christian faith and to provide parents with choices in games that they can feel good about giving to their kids. We are excited about our partnership with EMI CMG because it establishes the leader in Christian media distribution as our ally in accomplishing this mission,” said Wells.
The first products to be released to Christian retail under this new relationship are three games in the Bible Champion Series of 3D action adventure PC games which bring classic Bible stories to life and were developed with editorial oversight from major denominational children’s curriculum publishers. Three games in the Gospel Champion series will also be released for the Catholic audience and were created with guidance from Catholic publisher Silver Burdett Ginn Religion.
Bible Champions Volume 1 and Bible Champions Volume II each feature 14 different Bible stories. The 3D action/adventure games include skill settings for early elementary, older elementary and middle school children and put the children in the setting of the Bible story to solve puzzles, avoid adversaries, find Bible characters, and perform tasks related to the Bible story. Bible Champions Volume III– The Resurrection is the third and newest release in the Bible Champions PC video game series. The Resurrection focuses on 10 age-appropriate Bible stories that teach children about Jesus’ life, death and resurrection.
Gospel Champions Catholic Computer Video Game Volume I and Volume II each feature 13 New Testament Gospel stories corresponding with the readings from Mass about Jesus’ life, including many of Jesus’ public sermons. The game weaves 3D action/adventure game play with sequenced elements of Gospel stories and memorization of Catholic prayers and teachings. Gospel Champions Catholic Computer Video Game-Bonus Pack includes more new adventure games based on Old and New Testaments stories such as Noah’s Ark; Joseph’s Colorful Coat; Daniel & the Lion’s Den; and Peter Delivered from Prison. The game has three different skill settings for ages six and older.
“Bible Champions and Gospel Champions both present Biblically accurate recreations of beloved stories and will enable parents to build faith foundations that will last beyond the time their children have outgrown the games,” said Wells.
