DANNY KOKER, ORIGINAL CATHEDRAL QUARTET BARITONE PASSES AWAY
Danny Koker, the original baritone vocalist for the Cathedral Quartet, has passed away in Las Vegas, NV. Mr Koker had a lengthy illness.
In 1963, Koker, along with tenor Bobby Clark and lead Glen Payne, formed the Cathedral Trio at Rex Humbard's Cathedral of Tomorrow in Akron, Ohio. In 1964, bass vocalist George Younce came on board and for the next four years, the quartet continued with no personnel changes. In 1968, Clark left the quartet, followed by Koker one year later. Koker also enjoyed tenures with the Weatherfords and Foggy River Boys. He would later own a television station in Las Vegas.
Funeral Arrangements for Danny Koker (the original Cathedral Quartet baritone/pianist/emcee) will be held Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008, at Palm Mortuary-Eastern, 7600 South Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, Nevada. Viewing will be held at 11 a.m., with services following at 1 p.m. Rex Humbard, Jr. will lead the services. |
