GREG FREEMAN is a singer, songwriter and author, and is the editor/publisher of SouthernEdition.com, an online publication devoted to the American South. Introducing Greg to her television audience in a February 7, 2008 taping of Babbie’s House during which he would perform the self-penned “Between the Lines” and “You Are,” multiple Dove Award winner Babbie Mason remarked that Greg is “. . . a fine singer, a beautiful songwriter with a heart that is so tender toward the things of God, and it all comes out in his songs.” Though not a prolific songwriter, Greg has been privileged to collaborate on a few songs with Mason, Kevin Stokes and Cheryl Rogers. For the authoritative New Georgia Encyclopedia and Encyclopedia of Arkansas History & Culture, Greg has contributed biographical entries on numerous musicians, including country music stars Travis Tritt and Collin Raye as well as a diverse array of gospel recording artists: Dottie Peoples, Babbie Mason, Roberta Martin, Hovie Lister and Lee Roy Abernathy. And for his own SouthernEdition.com, Greg has interviewed Grammy winners Bill Gaither, Chris Albertson, Ashley Cleveland and Ricky McKinnie (of the Blind Boys of Alabama)
