Filled with incredible talent, it seems that Israel Houghton can do it all. From singer to songwriter to instrumentalist and even taking on the role of worship leader at one of America’s largest churches, Israel is one of the most dynamic artists on the Christian music scene today. His anticipated release, The Power of One (Integrity Music) is set to release March 24th, and is bound to join the listing of his top albums.

The project begins with “Everywhere That I Go”. This song is a great start to the album with its great beat and diverse sound. From there it goes into the first single entitled “Just Wanna Say.” Israel puts a reggae twist on things with the song “Surely Goodness”, a duet with Chevelle Franklyn. The title track, “The Power of One (Change the World)” truly has a powerful message in that it conveys the power of spreading God’s love. While Israel has several upbeat songs on this album (“U R Loved”, “Saved by Grace”, “Better to Believe”, “You Found Me”), he doesn’t forget the slow ballads such as “Moving Forward”-- a beautiful song about erasing the past and moving forward for Him. The other ballads include: “ I Receive”, “Every Prayer” (a duet with MaryMary), and the closing song “My Tribute Medley”.

All in all this album is well-rounded and enjoyable. Israel unquestionably crosses the margins of different genres and unites them to accomplish one common goal: to worship Christ. This project is very unique in style and introduces a fresh sound. I know if you like Israel Houghton, you’ll enjoy this album! The music and lyrics will have you worshipping God throughout the day!
