Alexandria, IN, 01/06/10 – Just one year ago, the Gaither Vocal Band went through a renovation of legendary proportions when all-star members from the group’s rich history reunited to create the first-ever five-member Gaither Vocal Band featuring Michael English, Mark Lowry, Wes Hampton, David Phelps and founder, Bill Gaither. After a non-stop year of touring and finding their stride as a group, this all-star line-up is kicking off 2010 with a brand new DVD set… their first live taping together.

Due in stores Tuesday, January 19, Better Day and Reunited mark the beginning of a new era for the Gaither Vocal Band with a combined running time of more than three hours of captivating performances. This historic musical event was taped in high-definition before an enthusiastic live audience at the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio and features quintessential Gaither Vocal Band classics like “Alpha & Omega,” “The Love of God” and “Lord Feed Your Children” plus beloved Gaither-penned favorites such as “There’s Something About That Name,” “He Touched Me,” “I Am Loved” and “The Church Triumphant”.

The GVB also introduces new songs, “Better Day” and “Love Like I’m Leaving,” which are destined to become new favorites, offering a fresh dose of hope and optimism. Other highlights include David Phelps’s breath-taking performance of the classical Italian aria, Nussun Dorma, plus guest performances by The Isaacs, Jason Crabb, and the dueling pianos of Gordon Mote and young piano sensation Christopher Phillips.

Music, laughter, behind-the-scenes footage and a tremendously talented line-up of guests have forever raised the bar for future Gaither Vocal Band releases as the group celebrates their rich history, their present state of gratitude for God’s amazing grace, and their exciting future.

The Reunited and Better Day DVDs are accompanied by two CDs of the same title. The Better Day CD features select live performances from the San Antonio concerts and the Reunited CD features studio recordings of Gaither-penned classics.
